The year is 3030 on planet Earth, all nations have fallen under the control of the United Federation after a global war that destroyed three-fourths of the planet. This federation is a technology enhanced military oriented government system controlling the world’s means of production, distribution of wealth, resources, and information. A pretty image on paper and to the inhabitants of those upon Earth it seemed to be perfect. But all systems come with unforeseen problems; one such was population. Without mass crime and the tier structure that once controlled the world, human population grew in the thousands and so did the need for land to house them.

With this problem on their hands, the United Federation started Project Gaea and reached out to the stars sending soldiers to help colonize other worlds. And it worked, for awhile that is.

The year is 3032, the planet is designated the name ‘New Terra’, otherwise known as Earth 2.0. Another planet targeted by the United Federation due to its rich resources and bountiful land. But on this planet no hostile force held them back; for that matter, its inhabitants welcomed the strangers from the stars. But soldiers were sent and much to the horror of the inhabitants of ‘New Terra’, these soldiers did not come in peace. Except for two officers who realized the truth in what they were doing.

Mershall and Rygar were their names. They arrived shortly after the main force and took notice of the lack of resistance from this planet’s inhabitants. Sadly, speaking out against these actions did no good as their voices were swiftly muted and removed from their ranking. If only their words were heard then maybe, just maybe it could have kept the disaster of ‘New Terra’ from happening.

It started at midnight several days after the United Federation invasion of ‘New Terra’. In the silence of the night, a command structure was swallowed by the ground via sinkhole. It was marked as an accident until patrols spotted figures in the forests. A response team was sent to rendezvous with the patrols yet upon reaching their location, there was no patrol team to be found. Nothing left but one of the new Tek rifles. As a result, curfews were put into place, patrol teams were replaced with drones, and morale became an all-time low for it was obvious there was something else on this planet besides these peaceful people. Something hunting the soldiers of the United Federation.

The year is 3033, the colonization of ‘New Terra’ was marked as a failure. Eventually a retreat was called, and all forces of the United Federation left. But they left in such a hurry that many pieces of their precious technology was left behind, along with what remained of their camps.

Although that is the past, we do believe they will be back. Until then...
